Barcelona hit five at Mestalla as Yamal leads ruthless Valencia rout
Lamine Yamal delivered another brilliant display as Barcelona thrashed Valencia 5-0 at Mestalla, making it 4 wins from 4 and leaving the champions as LaLiga’s only perfect side.
It was a one-sided night from almost the first whistle.

Barcelona took the lead after only 5 minutes when Fermin Lopez clipped a fine ball over the top for Yamal. The 19-year-old stayed composed, lifting his finish over Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.
Yamal thought he had doubled the lead only 3 minutes later, but VAR ruled the goal out for offside.
Barcelona controlled 80 percent of possession, forcing the home side to wait more than 15 minutes for their first real sight of goal. David Otorbi had the chance, but failed to take it.
Barca punished that miss almost immediately. They broke forward and Fermin drilled a sharp left-footed finish into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.
Valencia did briefly threaten when Arnaut Danjuma forced Joan Garcia into a difficult save after a mistake from Rodri in midfield. But Barcelona still looked far more likely to score again before the break, with Fermin striking the post after creating space with quick footwork.
The pattern did not change after half-time. Barcelona missed an early opening, but soon found their third goal when Raphinha finished from almost on the goal line. Rodri then sent a powerful header against the crossbar as the match increasingly took on the feel of a training exercise.
With just over 10 minutes left, Pedri and Dani Olmo combined neatly in a quick one-touch move, with Pedri applying the finish for Barcelona’s fourth.
Yamal then added more misery for Valencia moments later. Olmo again provided the assist, and Yamal finished to complete his double and round off an emphatic 5-0 victory.
The defeat gives Valencia their worst start to a season after 4 matches in 10 years. Barcelona, meanwhile, continue to dominate Los Che, claiming an 11th win in their last 14 meetings.
