Paris FC beat Marseille for first time at Velodrome as Sinayoko seals dramatic win

Just 25 seconds into the match, Luca Koleosho found Sinayoko in front of goal and the forward finished from close range to silence the home crowd. It was the fastest Ligue 1 goal in more than 2 years.

Marseille responded quickly. Only 6 minutes later, Amine Gouiri punished an error from Adama Camara and tucked a close-range finish into the bottom corner for his third goal of the season.

But Paris FC struck again in the 19th minute. Pablo Pagis delivered a dangerous ball into the area, Sinayoko met it with a powerful header and the effort took a deflection off a defender before beating the goalkeeper.

Marseille pushed hard to equalise before the break. Angel Gomes saw a long-range strike saved, Timothy Weah was denied by Kevin Trapp, and Igor Paixao hit the crossbar from a dangerous free-kick.

Sinayoko also had a chance to complete his hat-trick before half-time, escaping his marker but shooting too close to de Lange.

Ilan Kebbal was stopped by de Lange and Koleosho sent an audacious backheel wide, misses that proved costly when Marseille levelled again. Gouiri reacted sharply to a loose ball inside the box and struck a fine diagonal volley into the far corner.

Gouiri nearly completed a hat-trick himself. Keyliane Abdallah set him up for a big chance, but Trapp made an excellent save, while Pierre Lees-Melou went close at the other end with a fierce 25-yard effort.

A draw would have felt fair after such an even contest. But Paris FC found the decisive break when Egan-Riley’s handball gave them a late penalty. Sinayoko held his nerve and sealed a historic victory.

It is Marseille’s second defeat of the season, while Liam Rosenior’s Paris FC remain unbeaten after 3 matches.
